Product Description:

MEKO is a colorless to pale yellow liquid that is soluble in water and commonly used for its reactivity with compounds containing isocyanate groups. It has several valuable applications across different industries. Primarily used as an anti-skinning agent in paints and coatings. It prevents the formation of a skin or film on the surface of paints, lacquers, and printing inks when they are stored in containers due to premature drying. MEKO achieves this by inhibiting the oxidation process that leads to skin formation, ensuring the paint remains usable and free-flowing.

Properties:

A substance added to paints and coatings to prevent the formation of a skin or film on the surface due to oxidation when exposed to air during storage.

Applications:

Paints and Coatings:
MEKO is widely used as an anti-skinning agent in various oil-based paints (alkyd, epoxy ester) and other coatings to prevent premature drying and skin formation.
Printing Inks:
It’s also used in offset printing inks to prevent skinning and maintain the ink’s fluidity.

Saftey & Handling:

MEKO is considered an irritant, and direct contact with skin or eyes should be avoided.
