Product Description:
A high-viscosity, low molecular weight solution-type epoxy resin (75% in xylene), designed for ambient-cure coatings. It offers excellent adhesion and durability, making it ideal for paints, civil engineering, and architectural applications
Properties
- State: It is a 75% solution of a high-molecular weight liquid epoxy resin in xylene.
- Epoxy Equivalent Weight (EEW): The solution has a high epoxy content, with a typical EEW in the range of 450-500 g/eq for the neat resin.
- Viscosity: The KER 3001-X-75 is a high-viscosity resin.
- Non-Volatile Content: It is a non-volatile solution.
- Curing: It cures at room temperature with polyamine or polyamide curing agents, and can also be force-dried.
- Solvent: It is dissolved in xylene, an organic solvent.
Application
- Protective Coatings: Used in solvent-borne two-pack coatings for the protection of metal and concrete in marine, industrial, and heavy-duty applications.
- Architectural & Civil Engineering: Its use extends to paints, civil engineering, and architectural applications.
- Modifier in Stoving Enamels: Can also be used to modify stoving enamels based on acrylic or alkyd/melamine resin systems.
- Other Applications: The underlying KER 3001 solid resin is also used in applications like printed circuit boards (PCBs) and molded parts.
