Cobalt Octoate 10 % | Primary driers used to catalyze free-radical cross-linking of unsaturated resins. Cobalt 12% NDA is recommended for white paints to minimize film yellowing | It can be used as an oxidation catalyst in various applications and is therefore by preference the drier in coatings or inks. It is used almost exclusively in printing ink driers because rapid stacking of printed matter demands extremely fast drying. Wrinkling presents no problem because of the thinness of the printed film. | 200 kg drum |
Calcium Octoate 5% or 10 % | Drier used to promote activity of oxidative drier and/or minimize loss-of-dry when added in grind | toy finishes, Miscible with organic solvents and oils. Improves performance, when used together with other siccatives. Calcium Octoate is an effective wetting agent. Suitable to use during dispersion process. | 210 kg drum |
Zirconium Octoate 12 % & 18 % | Primary through drier but typically requires higher loadings. Zirconium Octoate is generally used with Cobalt siccatives in order to obtain a hard and durable film layer. Suitable to be used instead of Lead driers. Recommended amount is 75% of Lead Octoate. | Miscible with organic solvents and oils. Zirconium Octoate siccatives particularly recommended in order to prevent ecologic disadvantages of Lead driers | |
Lead Octoate 36 % | used as active or top drier. It promotes hard, through drying throughout the entire film and also promotes flexibility. In alkyd finishes where fume proof finishes are not specified. | Miscible with organic solvents and oils. Polymerization catalyst for drying oils and provides internal drying. Lead Octoate is the most effective polymerization catalyst. Suitable to be used together with Cobalt, Calcium etc. driers. | 250 kg drum |
